Day 310 Salt and Pepper Crackers

Salt and Pepper Crackers

1 Cup All Purpose Flour
1 Cup Whole Wheat Flour
1 Teaspoon Baking Powder
1/2 Teaspoon Salt
1/4 Cup Olive Oil
1/2 Cup Water
Coarsely Ground Salt and Pepper

This recipe is the same base as the Herb Crackers (Day 299)

1.  Preheat oven to 350 F.  Combine the dry ingredients and mix well.  Drizzle in the olive oil and mix with a wooden spoon. Some lumps will form and the flour will look like cornmeal. Add the water and mix well to combine. The dough will not be smooth.

2. Gather the dough into a ball and divide it in half.  Place each half between sheets of parchment paper.  Roll the dough out as thin as you can. Sprinkle the salt and pepper over the dough.  Lightly roll the salt and pepper into the dough.

3.  Place the dough and the lower piece of parchment paper on baking sheets.  Bake 30 minutes until the crackers are crisp and golden brown.

4.  Break into cracker sized pieces.
